Dieser Bildungsroman ist eine mehrstimmige Geschichte über das Entstehen von Identitäten durch Vermischung mit netzartig imaginierten Elementen. Im Zeitalter des digitalen Wandels verbindet der Roman eine reiche literarische Tradition mit der Modernität unserer Netzgesellschaft. Das Internet vervielfacht die Macht der Träume, stört das Verhältnis von Raum und Zeit, vergrößert die Unruhe gegenüber Bindungen und Versprechungen.
Die zunächst im Rhythmus eines Borges online auf der Webseite Odds veröffentlichten Geschichten verlieren sich bald in den Tiefen der Psychologie, zwischen Traumszenarien, Erinnerungsfetzen und labyrinthartigen Reflexionen. Ein Netzroman ist genauso rätselhaft wie David Lynchs Mulholland Drive und lässt mehr als nur einen Interpretationsansatz zu.
Dieser Netzroman wurde zuerst in einem Experiment als Feuilleton-Roman auf der Webseite Mediapart verbreitet und interpretiert. Ein Nachwort von Laurent Loty lädt zur Fortführung des interpretativen Dialogs ein.

Véronique Taquin ist die Autorin eines Essais über Anouilhs Antigone und diverser Artikel über Literatur, Kino, Wirtschaft und Politik. Nachdem sie sich mit Gilles Deleuze mit Emotion im Kino beschäftigt hat, dreht sie selbst 1993 den Film Bartleby ou les hommes au rebut. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie an einer Romantrilogie über das heutige imaginäre Leben und über die Rolle, welche die Medien darin einnehmen. In Vous pouvez mentir (Le Rouergue, 1998) geht es um das Medium Radio. In Ein Netzroman steht das Internet im Vordergrund. Der dritte Band ist in Vorbereitung.

In the guise of a forger, the Webmaster, Névo, offers his corrected biographies, his « lives reinvented » on the Web. But can this master of fools control the situation ? The outcome remains unclear : emma and pommeraye publish their own stories about him, twinlight-ida accuses him of cheating, while Lessen, a student of mathematics who rejects his bright future, demands that Névo keep his word and change his life.

This polyphonic bildungsroman reflects on identities created through the intermixing of imaginaries on the web. At the time of our digital conversion, the novel integrates the richest literary tradition with the modernity of our networked societies. The Internet multiplies the power of dreams, disturbs the relation between space and time, and amplifies the anxiety about relationships and promises.

Launched on a Borgesian rhythm, the stories, posted on the Oddfellows website, are quickly submerged in the depths of the psyche. From dream-like scenarios, to fragments of memories, to labyrinthine thoughts, A Network Novel is as enigmatic as David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive and invites multiple interpretations.

This networked novel began as an experiment in serialized form published (and later interpreted) on-line by Mediapart. In the postface, Laurent Loty invites readers to continue the interpretative dialogue.

Véronique Taquin is the author of an essay on Anouilh’s Antigone as well as articles on literature, cinema, economics, and politics. After having worked with Gilles Deleuze on emotion in cinema, she directed Bartleby ou les hommes au rebut (1993). She’s writing a trilogy on the contemporary imaginary and the role that media play in its formation. Vous pouvez mentir (Le Rouergue, 1998) focused on radio ; A Network Novel is devoted to the Internet ; the third volume is in preparation.
